Provincial Nominations

Overview

 

Mostly all of the Canadian territories and provinces are authorized to nominate people having the skill, education and work experience to contribute to Canadian economy of the territory or the province.

Application process

PNP application process has the following two steps:

  • Be nominated by a particular Canadian province or territory subsequently,

  • File applications for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to become a Canadian permanent resident.

 

Nomination by provinces or territories:

An individual has to file applications to a territory or province where he or she plans to live. The application will be assessed depending on the following two things:

  • Needs of immigration.

  • Intention of residence.

The Eligibility criteria for each province and territory may differ from one another. Following are the provinces or territories

  • Alberta.

  • British Columbia.

  • Manitoba.

  • New Brunswick.

  • Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • Northwest Territories.

  • Nova Scotia.

  • Ontario.

  • Prince Edward Island.

  • Saskatchewan.

  • Yukon.

Apply to CIC

After the nomination by the territory or province one must file applications to CIC for permanent residence. The application will be assessed by a case officer as per the rules of Canada.

The principal applicant can include a common law partner, spouse, conjugal partner and/or dependent children in the application. Every province offers its own criteria regarding dependents and other obligations needed to be met to be eligible to apply to that province.

  • Each family member under age 22 who is married or in a common-law relationship $550

  • Each family member under age 22 who is unmarried and not in a common-law relationship $150.

2. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee, which will be requested by the Visa Office at a later stage if your application is approved.

Additional fees

You must also pay for the following for yourself and your family members (if applicable):

 

  1. Medical examinations.

  2. Police certificates.
