An overseas national or non-EU national should have a student visa in order to study in Denmark. The country’s education system is categorized in three types namely:

Being an overseas national, you need to obtain a resident permit to study in Denmark. For pursuing higher educational courses, applicant should:

Be accepted by an approved university or educational institution

Have knowledge either in English, Danish, Swedish, German or Norwegian

Enough funds
The validity period of resident permit under this program depends on the applicant’s intend on whether he or she is willing to complete the program or just follow the program as a guest student. After the grant of resident permit, in order to complete the program, applicant’s residence permit will be valid for an extra six months following the completion of the program. This is to enable them to seek a work in Denmark.

For undertaking Basic and youth study program, apart from above requirements applicant’s age should be above 18 years and permit is granted for a period up to one year. And, for the folk high schools program, resident permit is granted till the completion of course duration and later it can be extended a total up to 18 months.
