Recently launched Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is going to lure more foreign skilled workers; moreover, the plans are also ready to retain the coming immigrants. About 200 employers have expressed interest in the AIPP and more than 50 of them are officially designated as well.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) - a Crucial Immigration Program for Atlantic Provinces.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is the most crucial and needed immigration program designed for Atlantic Provinces in Canada. The key Atlantic Provinces of Canada, i.e. New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island are struggling with the demographic challenges and scarcity of skilled and talented workers, and this is the reason that AIPP is being seen as the game changer in terms of helping these provinces grow and prosper with the new skilled overseas talent flooding in the region. The Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is currently accepting the application for Canadian permanent residency under three key streams of AIPP, i.e.

  • Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program

  • Atlantic High-Skilled Program

  • Atlantic International Graduate Program

The AIPP aims to accept 2,000 applications for Canadian permanent residency under its above mentioned three streams.

Employers hold the key to the Success of AIPP

Employers in the Atlantic region hold the key to the success of Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP), as they have the responsibility to recruit the applicants and provide them crucial assistance for integration in the community.

The Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen met with the Donald Arseneault- New Brunswick Minister for Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, to discuss progress on the AIPP and further steps to be taken for the program.

In his statement on the occasion, Ahmed Hussen said, “I’m pleased to say we are off to a good start. Employers have been keen to get involved and provinces have started to receive applications from employers who wish to participate in the pilot. I look forward to continuing to work with our partners – including provincial governments, employers and settlement service provider organizations – as we move forward with this dynamic component of Canada’s Atlantic Growth Strategy.”

Speaking about the need to enhance the economy of the Atlantic Provinces, Arseneault said, “We are working hard getting things done to create jobs, secure health care and grow the economy. In the midst of an aging and shrinking population, welcoming skilled foreign workers and repatriating former New Brunswickers will help our province meet its labour needs and grow the economy.”
