In order to welcome more high-quality Indian students to pursue education in the country the Education New Zealand (ENZ) has launched a new initiative ‘Welcome2NewZealand’. The educational institutions in New Zealand have been majorly investing in the education system to attract the Indian students to impart education in New Zealand. The result is evident by the fact that the enrolments at the universities of New Zealand universities has increased by 53 % so far during the year 2017.
To lure the best Indian students to visit New Zealand, the ENZ has announced to introduce several initiatives that will focus on the specialist streams, scholarships, short-term internships, etc. Indian students continue to form the second largest community migrating to New Zealand for higher education as they are attracted by the quality of education that New Zealand offers.
At the launch of the initiative, New Zealand High Commissioner to India, H.E. Ms Joanna Kempkers said, “India has played a pivotal role in developing a diverse and multicultural pool of students on our campuses. With more than 25,000 Indian students choosing New Zealand for higher education in 2016, we want to continue to welcome Indian students to our world class institutions, and to live in our safe and welcoming country.
The ‘Welcome2NewZealand’ series offers a platform for New Zealand government agencies in India to interact and provide guidance to local education agents and consultants.
A major reason for increase in the number of Indian students to migrate to New Zealand can be attributed to the secure, friendly and high quality education. Another major reason for the students opting for New Zealand over countries like USA or Australia or UK is that all the universities of New Zealand have been ranked in the top 3% worldwide.
