Starting June 6, 2017, Canada Govt. will allow you to have more points if you have a certain level of French and / or if you have a brother in Canada. .

Eligible candidates must first express their interest in immigrating (provided they meet the minimum requirements). With this they enter the "eligible group of candidates" and each profile is automatically classified according to the score obtained. From the candidate database, profiles are chosen that are most suited to the needs of the labor market, and only these pre-selected individuals receive an invitation to file an immigration application. The request is then sent and the processing takes up to 6 months..

Details of Express Entry Program ?

In a nutshell: it is a candidate filter system.

To enter the Eligible Candidate Group (called the Entry Entry Pool), you must qualify under one of the following programs:

  • Federal Program of Qualified Workers

  • Federal Qualified Trades Program

  • Canadian Experience Program

EXPRESS ENTRY is an online, automatic system, consisting of 3 stages:

Stage 1: Candidates who want to apply under the programs mentioned above need to first express their interest to the federal government . A preliminary verification of the profile and eligibility of the person will be made, and if he / she is eligible, his / her data will enter the government system and be part of the Eligible Candidate Group .

A certain score will be given to classify candidates based on factors such as work experience, profession, studies, age, language level, among others, to determine the probabilities of integration and to contribute to the economic success of Canada. Based on this score, the government will determine who is most qualified to immigrate.

In addition, candidates will have to enroll in Job Bank / Guichet Emplois , if they do not already have a job offer or provincial nomination.

A great advantage of the EE system is that once the candidate is in the database, he does not have to wait patiently for an invitation from the federal government; You can file an application under a provincial program, if the province has a branch (or stream in English) of express entry under which you qualify. At the moment are the following provincial programs accessible to candidates who passed the first filter of the Express Entry:

  • New Scotland

  • Saskatchewan

  • Prince Edward Island

  • New Brunswick (external link)

  • Ontario

  • Northwest Territories (with job offer only)

To increase your chances of receiving ITA (see stage 2), candidates can be promoted with employers through Job Bank / Guichet Emplois.

Stage 2. The best ranked candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) (called Invitation to Apply / Invitation à présenter une demande ).

Stage 3 . Send the immigration application within 60 days, electronically too, with all required documentation. Job Bank / Guichet Emplois will help candidates find a job based on their skills.

  1. What are the professions accepted?

  2. There is no restriction of professions; However, certain provinces like Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia do have lists of professions.

  3. Fees under the EE?

  4. There is no fee to express your interest. For processing the permanent residency application (stage 3), the fee is $ 550 per adult and $ 150 per child at the time of application and $ 490 per adult before receiving the visa.

  5. How many applications will be received?

  6. For EE as such there is no limit.

  7. Processing time?

  8. Six months or less from the date of receipt of a completed application, after receiving the ITA (stage 2 above). How long it will take between stage 1 and stage 2 of the process is impossible to predict, since it is case by case.

  9. Minimum level of language required?

  10. For those who do not have a job offer and want to apply under the Federal Qualified Worker Program, the general minimum is CLB 7 (6.0 in IELTS, B2 High in TEF - High Intermediate) in each skill. However, this minimum may be insufficient for those who need more than 16 points in the First Language factor to reach 67 points (calculate their points by downloading the FSW-WW Eligibility table). Therefore, the general minimum is CLB 7 but the individual minimum depends on each profile.

  11. See what corresponds a CLB 7 in English and French .

  12. The minimum is to have one year of work experience of level O, A or B. This gives 9 points, however this minimum may be insufficient for those who need more to reach the required 67 points.

A couple with two children needs to show $ 22,856 for their first few months of subsistence.
