Russia- 18 nations get visa exemption to visit the Far East

The Prime Minister of Russia Mr. Dmitry Medvedev recently announced that the businessmen and the tourists from 18 nations, including from India won’t be now required to go throw the traditional procedure to obtain the Russian visas. The nationals of these 18 countries who wish to visit Russia’s Far East for tourist purpose or for a business related reason do not require a visa. This initiative is an outcome to boost tourism and increase investment in the Far eastern part of the country.
As per an official website of the Russian cabinet, the 18 countries which have been exempted from the visa requirement are:

These 18 countries were selected on the basis of the mutual understanding and mutual benefit amongst them and the Russia.
Medvedev in a meeting announced that “I have recently approved the list of nations, whose citizens can take benefit of this special regime. We are pro-actively forming the contemporary infrastructure and creating special regimes in the Far East; the law on visits to the Vladivostok free port was approved in March.”
It is expected that the cancellation in the visa procedure will help in promoting the growth of the investment sector and tourist attractions of the far east.”
